Canine Cancers
An anal sac tumor is a tumor made up of cells originating from the glands of the anal sac.
Urinary bladder / Transitional Cell Carcinoma (TCC) is an important neoplasm in dogs, Lymph node metastasis is reported in 16% of dogs with TCC at the time of diagnosis.
Brain and spinal cord tumors can be benign or malignant. The two most common types of primary brain tumors in dogs are: Meningioma and Glioma
Hemangiosarcoma is a cancer that invades blood vessels. When a tumor ruptures, it bleeds into a body cavity like the chest or abdomen.
Lymphoma in dogs is caused by an overgrowth of lymphocytes., which is a type of white blood cell that helps the immune system fight infection.
Dogs have five pairs of mammary glands, which can become cancerous, especially in un-spayed females. These tumors can be benign or malignant.
Mast cells are a type of white blood cell that plays a role in the allergic response, which can become cancerous masses in dogs. Tumors are commonly found on the skin or layer under the skin.
Melanoma or skin cancer in dogs is a type of tumor that develops when the pigmented cells form masses, lesions, or nodules.
Dog nasal tumors can be in the nasal cavity, including the sinus or nasopharynx. These can be malignant or benign (polyps).
Oral tumors are abnormal growth of cells that occur within the mouth that include skin cells, bone cells and fibrous cells. The most common types of oral cancer in dogs are Melanoma, Squamous Cell Carcinoma and Oral Fibrosarcoma.
Osteosarcoma is a cancerous bone tumor that arises from abnormal bone cell production and can occur in various bones and non-bony tissues.
Soft tissue sarcoma, is a broad term for tumors in soft and connective tissues. Your dog’s body has many different soft and connective tissues. Some examples include Muscle, Blood and Lymph Vessels, Nerves, Tendons, Fat and Fascia.
